HIV Drug Might Spur Resistant Strains of Virus (HealthDay)

HealthDay - TUESDAY, Aug. 5 (HealthDay News) -- The drug nevirapine -- widelyused in developing countries to prevent transmission of HIV from mothersto babies -- persists in the breast milk and blood of mothers, a newStanford University study finds.

The United States spends four times as much on health care as it spends on defense. If you haven't heard about the health care crisis in the US, you haven't been paying attention. The cost of health natural branched chain amino acid and medical treatment are growing faster then any other sector of the economy. From politicians to employees, everyone is worried.

Who Provides Health Insurance

Government

If you work for the government, you along with 39 million others depend on the government for health care. It is sometimes easy to forget that someone has to pay for all that care. Remember that government has only two sources of income: (1) taxpayers and (2) loans that put the country further in debt.

Employers

Health insurance is said to be one of the biggest worries for small and large businesses. Even though employees pay a portion through buy dehydroepiandrosterone dhea payroll, the portion that the employer pays is much greater. In 2006 alone, small business premiums rose 8.8 percent, and companies with less than 24 employees had an increase of over 10 percent.

The problem is that not everyone can afford to pay the, several hundred dollars a month, premium. The average annual premium charged by insurers for family coverage in 2006 was $11,500. Employees paid our about $3,000 of that. That's over 10 percent more than in the previous year! According to the National Coalition on Health Care, from 2000-2005 employee insurance premiums have increased by 73 percent. Meanwhile, wages only rose 15 percent. Premiums are skyrocketing.

It is easy to find yourself in a medical-expense bind even if you have health insurance. You are expected to really understand how your policy works, but it seems that insurers keep changing things without warning. Time after time you have to change physicians, worry about coverage, and make sure any hospital you may need is pre-approved.

"The Uninsured"

As of October 2006, over 46 million Americans were uninsured. We aren't talking about homeless or deadbeats. The majority of these Americans are working people with families. They either are not offered insurance through their employer, or can't afford it. Many self-employed people are uninsured.

When the uninsured do see a doctor, its usually due to a life-threatening emergency or whatever they have has gotten so bad they have no other choice. Many times, this leads to a hospital visit where the bills are painfully high. If you can't pay, the hospital will continue to hound you until they collect. To add to that, it can affect your credit rating if you can afford to pay them off.

What You Can Do

Make a Decision. You can either trust that the government or your employer will cover the increasing costs (or at least your share of the premium wont go up); or you can go uninsured, hoping you and your family will live well and stay accident free. Either way, it is up to you to make the choice.

Emergency Medical Accounts. More and more workers have decided to set up a medical saving coenzima q10 They take the money they would have paid on insurance premiums, and instead put it into an interest-building account. If the funds aren't needed for medical expenses then they are well ahead of the game.

Funding Medical Savings Account. If you decided to go this route, you will want to get as much money into this account as soon as possible. Many people have found that home-based businesses are a very effective way to get the cash rolling into their MSAs, with money to spare.

You don't have to quit your regular job. Instead, you work when you want to, steadily accumulating money for your emergency account. It is likely you will even have money left over for those things you have always wanted. A home-based business may be your answer to the health care crisis.
